Aron Gabor


Aron Gabor (1814-1849) A Transylvanian Szekler, whose abilities in technology were sharpened by service in a Habsburg military border artillery unit. He became one of the leaders of Szekler forces in Transylvania during 1848 and a participant in the Szekler assembly at Lutita (Agyagfalva) in October 1848. He achieved fame and noteriety by succeeding in producing cannon and gunpower for the Magyar forces in Transylvania as well as to leading the resistance in Covasna county to imperial troops. He was killed in action in July 1849 against the Tsarist invasion forces.
