Chemistry - Concepts and Problems; A Self-Teaching Guide,
3rd Edition, published September 2020.
The book is designed for self-study in general chemistry. The first two editions were authored by Clifford C. Houk and Richard Post, Emeriti of Ohio University.
The current third edtion is co-authored by Richard Post, Chad Snyder of Liberty University and Clifford C. Houk. As in all books, some typos and errata occur, especially as new material is melded with previous material in the process of updates. While we as authors with the assistance of our editors were busy checking all the formulas and calculations, we apparently managed to let a few obvious errors slip through. Here are, to the best of our knowledge, the errata as found in the 3rd edition.
Errata
Page 21, question 4. --- Change Mg to C (carbon)
If the erronious Mg is retained in question 4, then the answer to question 4 would be 12 protons,12 neutrons,and 12 electrons.
Page 21 question 5, If the error in question 4 is corrected to C (carbon) in place of Mg, then both question 5 and answer 5 are correct as written.
However, if the incorrect Mg is retained in question 4, then the electron configuration answer to question 5 would be 1s2, 2s2, 3p6, 3s2 (see frame 76 on page 20)
page 22, answer 7 --- change answer to s1
