Question of the Day:
A 43-year-old man
slips while ascending concrete steps. He falls forward and leads with the
heel of his left hand. Initially it is thought that he has badly sprained
his left wrist, but there is persistent pain, particularly upon
hyperextension and abduction of the wrist. Subsequently, x-rays show
degeneration and fracture of a wrist bone. Which bone is likely fractured,
and why is it degenerating?
